Megumi Bauer with water ladle preparing tea
Every fall the IBA membership struts its stuff and each time it is a very different show. A highlight of this show was the performance of a traditional Japanese matcha tea ceremony by members of the Japan America Society of Iowa. The program drew a large and attentive audience on Saturday afternoon. A special exhibit of Asian companion material included Omoto (Rhodea japonica), Samurai orchids (Neofinetia falcata), Sekkoku (Dendrobium moniliforme), Japanese cymbidiums, and dwarf variegated clivias. Kusamono, saikei, and suiseki were also exhibited.
