In the context of Japan’s rich history of art, the Yoshida family is notable for having created a sustained and diverse range of fine art that combines the best Japanese aesthetic instincts with a clear modern international appeal. Two in particular, Toshi and Tsukasa, father and son woodblock artists, produced prints with bonsai as the subject. These particular woodblock prints should be known to and studied by every serious student of bonsai.
